Musical reproduction: when a technique becomes the instrument of a sensitivity.
Our idea of musical reproduction is very far from the one developed by most manufacturers. We do not listen to «a device», but to an interpretation, including as many elements as possible allowing the reconstitution of an event in its integrity - whether it is a piano solo performed in a studio, or a rock concert performed in front of 10 000 people.
Each of these musical pieces must be rendered by respecting, as much as possible, the will of composers and interpreters, as well as the own timbres of instruments. What would you think of a picture gallery where masterpieces would be exhibited rolled up, folded or placed behind colored window panes or openwork masks?
This is nevertheless what happens when you listen to a standard Hi-Fi system: the timbres of instruments have a faraway connection with the original ones, the vigour of strong passages or, on the contrary, the softness of passages played at a low volume, are not respected; the acoustics of the place, the various effects - whether it concerns the natural reverberations of a concert hall, or an echo added on a pop music recording - all this is part of an intention which will be lost if the system in charge of reproducing these characteristics distorts them.
Thus, we notice that the beauty of musical reproduction is not sufficient if the essential ingredient is missing: the veracity of reproduction. To approach this veracity, we have set up appropriate technical means, without accepted ideas nor prejudices.
The final aim being music, - not technical measures- , the ear and sensitivity of many listeners have always decided ultimately upon the validity of solutions that we brought to the numerous problems encountered in this search of musical truth.
The result of this work, is a range of devices able to approach emotion and music life as close as possible. It is up to you now to judge the result. We think that it will more than pleasantly surprise you: it will probably bewitch you, as it has already bewitched many listeners !
